With Valentine’s Day around the corner,
I’ve decided to pull the mental creativity plug, the one that’s been in place for a while when I’m working on my paying gig and get into the mood with a free Valentine’s Day printable poster for you. Today’s freebie is about love and motherhood. Be sure to come back during the next few days or check out my Facebook as I’ll be creating a few more quotable posters, all ramping up to this fun and sweet holiday. (I may also create some coloring pages since I’m sure my little Muse will be by my side at some point, wanting and creating inspiration for her own projects.)
Next week is a busy week in the Fugz household with non-candy Valentine’s day cards to make for the kindergarten class of 18 (and teachers too!) and a couple of local parades that always fall around the same weekend. I wrote about our little town’s parade a couple of years ago. For this year, we’ll also stake out a good candy-catching spot at our city’s Fasching (Carneval) parade, so we need decent (warm) costumes since that’s at least 3 hours in the winter chill. The Mainz kid’s parade has over 3,000 participants and lasts over 2 hours!
However, back to Valentine’s Day…
I started thinking earlier about the origin of Valentine’s Day. No, sir, it wasn’t always a marketing scheme like in the UK, USA and even Japan. That’s only been since the mid 1800’s! So, are you curious? Check out The History Channel’s fantastic short video about the origin of this auspicious day. It’s informative and visually appealing… good enough for me to share with you, my faithful readers!
